What is parking like at Stonehenge on solstice night?
There’s a large car park, and it’s not an issue finding a space. The issue is getting into the car park, as there is a lot of traffic. I went a few years back, and we got there at about 10pm. The queues were long, but once we were in the car park it wasn’t hard to find somewhere to park. After you’ve parked, you have a five or ten minute walk to the main field, which has toilets, coffee stalls and some basic food stalls. You walk down the hill to the stones. It was worse in the morning. It took hours to get out of the car park. I turned my engine off for most of the time I was queuing, as it would have emptied my tank otherwise! We left not long after the sun had come up, when the majority of people headed off. So yes, you’re in for a long queue. I think they have parking elsewhere and shuttle buses to take you there too, but I’m not sure.
