What is Pangaea Frederick?
Pangaea Frederick, pronounced PAN-gee-UH, is the newest Celebrate Frederick event! Pangaea Frederick, a Festival Celebrating our Heritage presented by Celebrate Frederick and the Frederick County Human Relations Commission (HRC), will be held on Saturday, May 9th from 11am-6pm. The purpose of Pangaea Frederick is two-fold. First, the festival is an occasion for the community to enjoy Frederick’s growing diversity and welcome new citizens to the community at the Naturalization Ceremony. However, Celebrate Frederick, in partnership with The City of Frederick, and the HRC also view the festival as an educational opportunity, a time for individuals to learn about and experience the many different cultures and heritages that blend together in Frederick. Although this event is new to Celebrate Frederick, it is still deeply rooted in the history of Frederick.
