What is PALS? And how can they help transfer students?
PALS is short for Partnership for Academic Learning and Success, it is a program designed to help Transfer Students. The PALS program pairs transfer students with peer mentors (Junior, Seniors, or Graduate Students). PALS mentors guide Transfer Student mentees during their first year of college. Mentors provide one-on-one mentoring and are available to answer any questions students may have regarding university policy and procedure, General Education course, major courses, and much more. The PALS program provides informative and educational workshops. In addition to many workshops offered throughout the year, the PALS program also hosts several social events. These events bring mentors and mentees together and help to build lasting friendships. To join PALS go online at: www.calstatela.edu/academic/pals or visit them at Cal State L.A. Library South 1040A (323) 343-3184.
