What is Palm Wax and why is it better than other candle waxes?
Palm wax is made from a special species of palm tree that produces a nut like kernel. Oil is extracted from the kernel and made into wax. These palm trees are grown responsibly on farms and palm oil and wax is a 100% sustainable resource. It takes less energy to make palm wax than even soy wax, and palm wax burns cleaner than parafin or soy wax. For these reasons, palm wax is one of the most environmentally friendly ways to enjoy candles! We only work with distributors who are a part of responsible palm farming and do not clear rain forest to plant farms. Our suppliers belong to the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) which is overseen by the World Wildlife Fund. (WWF). CandleTropics hopes our customers will educate themselves on the production of palm oil, and only buy palm oil products from companies that use responsible production practices.
