What is Oxxos contribution to FEMSAs beverage strategy?
In Mexico, the small grocery store network is highly fragmented and presents economic opportunity for a well-managed convenience store chain such as Oxxo. Thus far, the Oxxo chain has enjoyed more than 15% annual growth in the number of Oxxo stores, totaling over 5,500 nationwide. The Oxxo chain contributes to our beverage platform by (1) selling our soft drinks and beers, (2) enabling the implementation of nation-wide marketing and promotional strategies for our beverages, and (3) growing our platform through joint decisions with FEMSA Cerveza on the locations for new stores. Today the Oxxo chain is the single largest customer of FEMSA Cerveza and Coca-Cola FEMSA, selling over 9% of our total Mexican beer volumes.
