Yes, all international students are required to purchase Australian overseas student health cover in order to obtain a student visa. This insurance covers your for hospital visits (100%) and for doctor’s fees (85%). It also provides you with a Free 24 hour telephone service for emergency and legal advice. Please note, this medical insurance only covers you while you are in Australia, so you may need to maintain the health insurance you already have in your own country.
