What is Overdraft Privilege and how is it different from Overdraft Protection?

0

Overdraft Privilege is a discretionary non-contractual service designed to provide an additional amount of overdraft coverage for your Checking Account. Your Checking Account will be allowed to go over your existing balance by $750 or $1,500, depending on your account type, for eligible members, to help guard against your transactions being declined by the credit union. This additional coverage will only be used after your Overdraft Protection has been exhausted. Should an overdraft occur, we may elect to cover your overdrafts up to your limit. Overdraft Privilege is only available for checks clearing through the normal check-clearing process. It cannot be used for checks cashed over the counter. You will be charged the standard $25 NSF fee for each item presented against non-sufficient funds up to your limit.
