What is Outcome Based Education?
The term “outcome-based education” is a fancy way of saying “test-based education.” This is a school or other educational environment where the focus is not placed outside of the classroom in the future of the student, but on immediate, measurable test scores. In a traditional classroom, a teacher might devote time to character education, and might teach students how to write a research paper so that students will know how to once they’re in college. In outcome-based education, the focus is on standardized test scores; so instead of writing research papers, students focus on writing test essays.
