What is our history and how did it the MTPS come to be?
The Middle Tennessee Plant Swap began when our former hostesses Jan Hobbs and Mona White decided to get this ball rolling. They offered us an opportunity that has spawned into an event that I believe fulfilled their wildest imagination of what could be. The MTPS is as much about family, friendship and comradery as it is about plants. There is no question that we have touched the lives of people to the point that several say that this is the highlight of their year and that they look forward to the MTPS above any other event. Thanks to Jan and her husband Jim we will be celebrating our 8th year and 16th swap in 2009. Our total attendance for those years has to have reached far beyond 2,000! We have had people come from as far away as West Virginia and New Jersey to attend. From their huge hearts, Jan & Jim offered their canoe and campground business as our location just south of Hohenwald, TN, usually at their own financial detriment, until this year.
