What is OSAP?
OSAP (the Ontario Student Assistance Program) provides loans to students to help them meet the costs of post-secondary education. This program covers both the Canada Student Loan, which covers 60% of the funding, and the Ontario Student Loan, which covers 40%. When you apply for OSAP you are automatically considered for both loans if you meet the Ontario residency requirements. You must be registered in a minimum of 60% of a full course load each term to qualify for OSAP funding. To apply or find out more about the program please visit osap.gov.on.

When you apply for OSAP you are automatically considered for both loans if you meet the Ontario residency requirements (you must have lived in Ontario for 12 consecutive months before the start of your study period, but you must not have been a full-time student at a post-secondary institution during this time).
