It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and on management practices that restore, maintain and enhance ecological harmony. Preferences will be given to the use of organic seeds, but a farmer may use non-organic seeds. However, the use of genetic engineering, ionizing radiation and sewage sludge is prohibited.
