What is Oregon School’s doing about the H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu)?
Please read and review the attached letter from the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department concerning information regarding the H1N1 flu virus. The Health Department is providing guidance and assistance to local school districts as a precautionary measure in an effort to minimize any potential impact of the virus. To that effect, Health Commissioner, Dr. David Grossman, is encouraging parents to have their children vaccinated against the H1N1 virus once the vaccination is available. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department has asked school districts to serve as vaccination sites in an effort to provide the vaccinations in a cost effective and timely manner. It is important to understand that the vaccination will be voluntary and require parental consent. During the course of the next several weeks, The Oregon City School District will be developing a system that will facilitate the implementation of this process.
