Oral microbiology analysis consists of taking of samples of bacteria found in the mouth, specifically the teeth, tongue and back of the tongue and examining these samples for bacteria that causes oral infection. A report with information on the types of bacteria that is present in the three locations is sent to the dental office. The clinicians use the report as one of the diagnostics to determine treatment.
