FrostByte Groove Lounge was the original music stream of OverXposure(.FM), introduced August 23, 2003. In its course of evolution, FrostByte Groove Lounge underwent numerous transitions. In April 2004, the foundation of what was to become Ambient Popsicle was extracted from the format. In July 2005, FrostByte began to cycle rotating “moods” through the course of the day. What was relegated to FrostByte’s evening format eventually became Low Mercury. Eventually, FrostByte was no longer what it started out as, having undergone so many changes and dissections warranting a new name. Regardless of the changes, the FrostByte name shared many of the same difficulties as OverXposure, so planning a transition was long in the works.
