What is OptomCAS?
OptomCAS is the Optometry Centralized Application Service that will launch on July 15, 2009. Through this service applicants may file one application and send it to multiple optometry programs. The schools and colleges of Optometry will be able to process applications more efficiently. Health profession advisors will have access to data on students from their schools. The profession of Optometry will have useful data for workforce and future trends. Many disciplines are currently using a CAS. Among these are Allopathic Medicine (AMCAS), Osteopathic Medicine (AACOMAS), Dentistry (AADSAS), Post-Doctoral Dental Medicine (PASS), Physician Assistants (CASPA), Podiatric Medicine (AACPMAS), Veterinary Medicine (VMCAS), Public Health (SOPHAS), Physical Therapy (PTCAS), Pharmacy (PharmCAS), and Communication Science and Disorders (CSDCAS).
