What is On the Road to Living Well with Diabetes?
On the Road to Living Well with Diabetes was developed in collaboration with University of Hawaii, University of New Mexico, Joslin Diabetes Center and USDA Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service. This six lesson series is taught by Washington State University Extension faculty and staff experienced in nutrition education. • We offer the series of six – one and half hour classes in the community. • The classes are targeted to people living with diabetes. • The objective is to involve people in their own care and management of diabetes. • Participants receive two tests related to diabetes management – • A1c • Blood Pressure • Classes provide information about diabetes and the 5 tests to monitor diabetes care, and seek to empower individuals to become involved in their own care.
