What is on the GED 2002 Tests?
As with the previous GED Tests, the GED 2002 tests will cover the core academic areas of language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics with new focus on some parts of the tests. First, a timed essay on a assigned topic is part of the Language Arts Writing Test. A new scale, with an emphasis on organization, will be used to score the essay. Second, the mathematics test will be divided into two parts – one part permits the use of a calculator while the second part does not. 03 – Test 1: Language Arts, Writing – Part 1 ( 50 questions, 75 minutes) Part 1 of the Writing test will be multiple choice questions from informational documents like business communications (letters, memos, e-mail reports, executive summaries, applications) and “how-to” texts that provide instructions and directions (securing a job, writing a resume, dressing for success, leasing a car, planning a trip, etc.). 04 – Language Arts, Writing – Part 2 (essay – 45 minutes) An expository essay of 200 – 250 words
