Ohio has more than 40,000 square miles of land that includes rolling and steep hills near the base of the Appalachian Mountains in the South, smooth even farmland in central and northern Ohio, Lake Erie, one of the great lakes, in the north, and winding rivers. Bordering Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Canada (by Lake Erie), Ohio captures the landscape of both the East Coast and Midwest.
