What is official order 10-01-D?
Official order 10-01-D created the Designated Surveillance Area (DSA), an area where known risks for brucellosis transmission from wildlife to livestock exists and requires enhanced surveillance and mitigation effots. The DSA, which includes the entirety of Beaverhead, Madison, Gallatin, and Park counties, was developed by a work group consisting of livestock producers, veterinarians, livestock market operators, and representatives from industry organizations such as the Montana Stockgrowers Association, Montana Cattlemen’s Association and Montana Farm Bureau Federation. The order increases monitoring, testing, prevention and animal traceability for the disease.
