What is off-line mode?
A product with a networked license can be used in both online and off-line mode. Online mode requires an ongoing connection to the license server. Off-line mode allows product use for a time without connection to the license server. For networked named user licenses, the off-line period is set automatically upon successful connection to the license server. For concurrent licenses, the off-line period has to be set manually during online mode. The off -line mode has a limit (maximum of 30 days), which is set in the user list on the license server. When the off-line period expires, the product may not be used until reconnected to license server.The off-line mode shields networked users from transient problems with the enterprise’s network or license server. It is also useful for laptop users since they may frequently disconnect from the enterprise’s network.
