OC Optics was formed from the former cylindrical lens manufacturer, Team Technologies Inc., which began production in 1994. Ralph Olenick has owned and managed both companies. In 2003, design of improved, automated glass grinding and polishing machines was begun in order to improve lens surface quality, dimensional control, and production efficiency for volume production of cylindrical lenses with the shortest focal length, EFL. Improved techniques for manufacturing acylinder surfaces was also started.
