What is OARnet?
The Ohio Board of Regents created the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) in 1987 to provide Ohio researchers with their first “online” access. Today, the OARnet network provides more than 1,850 miles of fiber-optic backbone and, as part of the state’s Strategic Plan for Higher Education, serves as the integrated technology infrastructure organization for the University System of Ohio, as well as the network for K-12.
