What is NuvaRing birth control?
NuvaRing is a relatively new form of birth control first approved in the United States in 2001. It is a flexible ring around 2 ½ inches in diameter. Nuva Ring contains a combination of the hormones estrogen and a form of the progestin desogestrel that is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. NuvaRing is a third generation contraceptive that uses a different form of progestin than previous contraceptives.
