There are basically 2 main types of television systems around the world, NTSC and PAL. The following list shows the country association with each format: NTSC – North America, Japan and parts of South America. PAL – Europe (excluding France), China, Scandinavia, Australia, and India. Unless you have a DVD player that is capable of playing both NTSC and PAL format DVDs, the DVD and DVD player must be the same format in order for the DVD to be playable. Most region free DVD players are capable of playing both formats DVDs. Most DVDs sold on IHDVD.com are NTSC format, and is suitable for NTSC (North American) DVD players.
