What is NRF doing to increase the number of Erosion Control regulators?

0

Dean Naujoks, Upper Neuse Riverkeeper, has spoken in front of the Sedimentation Control Commission urging for more state inspectors and asking them to review their 1997 Plan of Action, which includes adding more inspectors. Also, the NRF is leading the MWW which includes submitting a final report at the end of the project that has recommendations, one of which will surely be hiring more Erosion Control inspectors. Riverkeeper programs involved in this project can also use our findings to encourage more inspectors for the 21 local E&S programs that will fall under the scope of this project. Lastly, the MWW will make state officials and regulators aware that the fact that citizens are volunteering to patrol construction sites means that there is a need for more inspectors.
