What is NPS doing to help overcome the challenges set forth by the low lake levels (i.e., mud, boat launches, restrooms)?
Ramps have been extended at all major launching areas and eight floating restrooms are accessible at various locations on the lake. Recently, NPS also announced the navigable channel on Lake Powell has been marked to guide boaters to the north and west of Padre Butte. Additionally, NPS provides boating safety updates via its Web site, http://www.nps.gov/glca/safety.htm. Disclaimer: Boaters should be aware that the NPS does not mark hazards outside of the main channel.
