During the initial days of internet marketing, there were not many people who had to be targeted specifically. The promoter of the product could afford to reach out to everyone without caring much about the current issue of ‘industry niche.’ In other words, there was no use for targeted marketing. Times have changed and today, products have lost their widespread appeal- hence, one has to market one’s product keeping in mind the specificity of the product in hand. Demographic disparity was earlier deemed unimportant, and the only concern was to attract the attention of as many internet users as possible. In order to find the proper market for your product, i.e. to find the perfect market niche, you have to firstly understand your product and then, the people you are trying to attract. This information will however be supplied to you by your competitors in the same field. For example, suppose you are promoting an alcoholic beverage that can be brewed at home. It is taken for granted that
