What is NERF and SMERF?
A new employee or a rehire is given a NERF (New Employee Registration Form) if they have a faculty or staff title. A student employee is given a SMERF (Student MU Employment Registration Form). The purpose of these forms is to provide the employee with information about going to a CAPS center to complete necessary hiring paperwork. This form should be completely filled out and given to the employee by the hiring department.
