What is needed?
In most cases, a small blood sample is collected during your appointment. A DNA sample may also be obtained painlessly from the mouth with a cotton swab (buccal swab). Most of Genetrack’s facilities are equipped and trained for both blood as well as buccal swab collections. You may choose the collection method that you prefer during the time of your appointment. For newborns, DNA paternity test can be performed safely using umbilical blood from the umbilical cord. In unusual circumstances, DNA can even be collected from other sources, such as bone, hair, old blood samples or stains, semen, saliva, or even from a deceased individual.

Any teacher with access to electronic mail via the Internet can participate. Several net service providers and most of the commercial boards (America Online, Genie, CompuServe, Delphi, The Well, etc.) now offer e-mail gateways and other Internet services. MathMagic is best suited to schools that use computers with modems and have direct Internet access. In some areas, a local Bulletin Board System (BBS) or a Net user (such as a parent with net access) may have to act as a go-between. Please ask about special arrangements.
To receive the FTA programs you will need a satellite dish tuned to the Optus D2 satellite, a satellite receiver and a TV set. The signal from the receiver can be coupled into the TV through an AV input (preferred) or through the TV aerial input. Alternatively it can be connected to the VCR or DVD recorder so that programs can be recorded. The satellite dish can be mounted on the roof, or above the gutter with a mount that is fixed under the tiles and fastened to the rafters, or onto a wall facing North. It can also be mounted on a pipe driven into the ground. A cable then needs to be installed. This is usually brought down the inside of the wall to the existing TV outlet.
