What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are licensed as general practitioners in complementary medicine, providing a full range of diagnostic tests and therapies. In British Columbia Naturopathic doctors have a minimum of three years under-graduate premedical training, followed by a four year post graduate program at an accredited Naturopathic medical college. Graduates must pass licensing examinations set out by NABNE (North American Board of Naturopathic Education) and the CNPBS (College of Naturopathic Physicians of B.C.) before obtaining their licensure. Naturopathic doctors are trained to treat almost all acute and chronic conditions.
