What is Nature Conservation?
Conservation has been defined in many different ways, for example, as: • Protecting the environment (from human activity) • Preventing the extinction of animals and plants • Creating new habitats • Managing natural resources and ecosystems • Keeping the balance of nature • Preserving the natural environment • Educating people about the environment All of these are important and Nature Conservation covers a very wide range of activities although it can be summarised in the diagram below.
