What is Natural Ventilation?
Natural ventilation comes through open windows and doors, but it does have drawbacks. Natural ventilation cannot be controlled, and unevenly distributes the air. Light or no wind and little inside versus outside temperature differences won’t allow for a properly ventilated home, while too much wind and temperature differences can affect comfort and cause humidity levels to be too high or too low. Radon can enter the home through the basement floor, or from cracks in the foundation. Once radon is discovered, it can be exhausted through mechanical exhaust fans routed through pipes before it enters the home.
