What is Natural Perfumery?
Natural Perfumery is the art and science of creating perfumes using natural essences only. These are essential oils, absolutes, CO2 extractions, concretes, tinctures, infusions and at times also isolates that come from natural sources – not from petroleum. Those essences come from organic life forms such as plants – flowers, leaves, seeds,roots, bark and fruit – and occasionally animal ingredients – including beeswax and honey absolute, civet absolute, castoreum absolute,ambergris tincture, musk tincture and African stone tincture. Because of the fast rise of synthetics since the end of the 19th century, natural perfumery has been dormant for many years. Currently, the market is saturated with perfumes that are overly synthetics and dominated by several perfume companies that are mostly concerned with profitability; on the other hand there is a renewed public interest in natural products due to a rising sensitivity to commercial products, aromatic ingredients have become more accessibl
