What is National Panhellenic Conference’s opinion about hazing?
Taboo practices and rituals are often stereotyped in popular culture and held up as commonplace behaviors. But there is one intolerable behavior that cannot be tolerated, condoned or minimized in our world: hazing. A crime in at least 44 states, the consequences of hazing cannot, and will not, be tolerated by the National Panhellenic Conference or its 26 member groups. The Conference is part of national and comprehensive coalitions dedicated to educating students, advisors and parents about the warning signs of hazing. National Hazing Prevention Week is traditionally recognized the last week of September, when hundreds of organizations educate and promote a hazing-free environment.
