What is NAT (network address translation) in a general router setup?

0

Network Address Translation (NAT) comes to reduce the problem and it becomes a standard feature in router. It translates packets from Public Network to Private Network. This involves the translation of both IP addresses and port numbers. For example, if user wants to use RX for remote monitoring via the Internet. The NAT Router can be configured as a virtual server so that remote users accessing RX via the public IP address with port number can be automatically redirected to RX in the LAN. It requires setup port forwarding rules for the three RXs as below table.
