What is Nasdaq and DowJones?
Both are indices (or indexes if you will) that indicate the overall value of certain set of stocks that constitute a major portion in value of the US stock markets – The National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations, known as NASDAQ, is an American stock exchange. It is the largest electronic screen-based equity securities trading market in the United States. With approximately 3,800 companies and corporations, it has more trading volume per hour than any other stock exchange in the world Ihe Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA). Often referred to as “the Dow”, the DJIA is one of the most watched stock indexes in the world, containing companies like General Electric, Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Exxon.
