What is Narcissitic Personality Disorder?
A Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a psychological disorder which effects the way a person relates to all other people in their lives. NPD represents a learned response to a painful experience that someone experiences in their life (most often in the early developmental years). Death of a parent or sibling, divorce, adoption, prolonged separation from primary care giver and a prolonged illness can all lead to NPD. A person who experierence this level of trauma suffer arrested development and throughout their life try to get needs met that were deprived of them at the normal period in life.
