What is NAATI Level Three?
NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is the “national standards body for the profession of translators and interpreters in Australia (NAATI 2002). It assesses translators and interpreters and issues certificates. NAATI identifies different levels of translators and interpreters according to the level of translation and interpreting services. NAATI Translator/Interpreter is the first professional level of translation and interpreting and was formerly known as NAATI Level Three translator/interpreter. Translation and interpreting services provided by NAATI Level Three translators and interpreters are considered to be of high quality, accurate, reliable and ethical. It is NAATI’s recommendation that Level Three translators and/or interpreters should be used whenever and wherever possible. Nowadays, more and more organisations in various sectors in Australia only employ NAATI Level Three translators and interpreters.
