What is Myocardial Perfusion Pharmacalogic?
Myocardial perfusion pharmacalogic is a two-part imaging test that uses a radioactive tracer dose and a camera linked to a computer to generate pictures of blood flow to the heart. The test will let the doctor know if your heart is getting enough blood at rest and during stress. You can plan on being our guest for approximately 3 hours in order to complete this test. If you are overweight based on height and weight, you may need to make 2 separate visits to complete the test. Procedure You will be asked to provide information about your medical history including medications you are taking now. You will be notified about the scan and asked to sign a consent form. You will be asked to change into a hospital gown. An IV will be inserted into a vein in your arm through which the injections will be made.
