What is my wrecked car worth to an auto salvage yard?
What your wrecked car is worth depends on the weight of the vehicle. There are a few ways to scrap a wrecked car. One is to call someone who buys junk cars, and you could get up to $500 for it, but likely much less. Another option is to haul it to the scrap yard yourself, but this requires you to prep it. The prepping requires you remove the gas or gas tank (you can call the local scrap yard for requirements), and the battery. You can get $5.00 for the scrap battery at almost any auto parts (I know for sure Advance Auto). In most states, you are also required to have a clear title to scrap a car. If you get the car ready, you can have a flatbed bring it to the scrap yard for you (for a fee, of course). If a junk car buyer gives you more than $200 for it, it is likely the best way to go. Good luck!
It is definitely worth some money, I would look into how much the car wieghs and factor in the scarp scale. Even if your car is totally wrecked, the metal still has value to recycle and what not, so the car is still worth some money. You can sell it to junk cars websites that have quick and easy service. Try rustysautosalvage.com or fastcashforjunkcars.com. They have good reviews and seem to accept these types of cars. Best of luck.
I wouldn’t expect anything for it. I know that in the area I live in or further into the country/ quebec there are a lot of mechanics who own garages and buy cars just like this to fix up and resell. I would go try and find something like that first since they may give you upwards of 300-500 for it. You would need to cover towing though if they don’t have their own truck. (In all honesty though a towing fee isn’t much) However here is a list of things you could probably salvage yourself and are all very easy to take off the car. Also my estimated prices but go on ebay or something and check out what they’re actually selling for: Catalytic converter: easy to remove, $100-250 Mass airflow sensor: even easier to remove, $30-70 Battery: ridiculously easy to remove (generally just a single screw): $depends on age Deck: easy, but dunno price Any aftermarket parts you may have: (replacement stuff) Tires: lol Wheels: Alloys will sell for a good price, easy to remove That’s pretty much it for e
