What is my share ratio and is it important?

Your share ratio can be found in the “User Info” box in the upper right corner of your screen. It represents the amount of information that you’ve downloaded vs. the amount you’ve uploaded. It is a general indicator of how much of the music you’re sharing back after you’ve completed downloading it. In an ideal world everyone would have a share ratio of 1.0 which means they uploaded exactly as much as they’ve downloaded. It’s important because if people don’t upload then there won’t be anything to download and the system won’t work. If you are new to the site and your ratio drops really low it’s ok because you haven’t had time to upload much yet. You may have jumped on a torrent that was near the end of it’s life cycle so there was no one to upload to. You will want to try to get it back up but don’t panic. Just download some shows with lot’s of leechers and leave them running long after they’re finished. You’ll soon be back in good shape. You will want to keep an eye on your ratio at t
