If the FERP assignment is full-time for one semester, the salary will be the individuals final monthly salary earned before retirement, plus any general salary increases provided by collective bargaining, paid over six consecutive months. If the FERP assignment is one-half time for the academic year, then the salary is one-half of the individuals final monthly salary earned before retirement, plus any general salary increases, paid over 12 consecutive months. Since FERPs are retired they receive the monthly retirement check from PERS. In addition, during the period of active employment, they also receive their faculty salary in proportion to the time base worked. FERPs teaching one semester per academic year who wish to have direct deposit need to reapply each semester.
