What is my role as a member of the union?
The union is a democratic organization that encourages members to carry out union functions and participate in the decision-making process. The union is basically “staffed” by volunteers. Officers, members of committees and union representatives in department are volunteers who devote their time and effort to sustaining the union. The union cannot continue to function if the only role of members is to pay dues.
