What is my GBC username and password?
• Effective Fall 2009, a student’s username for E-mail, Blackboard, and Campus Web will normally be the first six characters of the student’s last name plus the first initial of the first name and the first initial of the middle name. For example, John Henry Jackson – jacksojh. If the name is common, a number may have been added to the end. For example, John William Smith’s username could be smithjw2. Please note some students may have a middle name but neglected to provide it when they applied. If there is not a middle name on the GBC administrative system, the username will not contain the initial for it. Prior to Fall 2009, the username did not include the middle initial. Usernames and password combinations are e-mailed to students prior to the beginning of the session if an e-mail address was provided on the GBC admission application. If an e-mail address was not provided, they are mailed through the postal service. Lab assistants in the Academic Computing Center can help students
