What is Mustard Agent?
Mustard Agent is a chemical weapon; it was originally designed by the Germans in WWI. It was designed to disable, but not kill troops. It is usually a brown-yellow color and is the consistency of motor oil or molasses. Mustard is a vapor or aerosol – not a gas. As a solid it is heavier than water – as a vapor or aerosol it is heavier than air. You cannot see mustard agent in the air. Mustard Agent is the only chemical weapon stored at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot.
