Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer and an additive in foods. It used to be that monosodium glutamate (MSG) was primarily found in Asian foods as a flavor enhancer, but its use is now widespread. MSG looks like white crystals like that of salt. No, there is no MSG in any Sesmark cracker. Some ingredients used in the crackers, such as yeast extract, are naturally high in amino acids including naturally occurring glutamic acid which is a component of MSG. The FDA does not require that these products be labeled as containing MSG. Anyone with a severe sensitivity to MSG may want to consider whether they choose to consume these types of products.
