What is MSDS Online?
MSDS Online is a commercial management system that eliminates the need to retain and manage paper (“hard”) copies of MSDSs – which was traditionally done in a three ring binder. Instead, MSDSs are managed electronically, which automates the task of keeping those binders up-to-date – while retaining the concept of a binder. In the program, assigned Administrators will place MSDSs for the products their departments use in an electronic binder, known in the system as an “eBinder”. General Users, if they choose their department, will have their search initially limited to the eBinder where they will only see the MSDSs for the products used by their unit – however, the system also allows the user to search the millions of MSDSs available from the vendor. And when a manufacturer updates an MSDS with new information, the system allows MU to instantly update everyone’s eBinder at once – so users are getting the most up-to-date information available.
