What is Mrs. Flannerys student behavior and discipline system?

I have worked very hard to create a safe, loving environment for your child to learn. However, having a classroom full of 5-6 year old students can be quite busy. In order to better manage my classroom, I use a “stoplight” to help students control their behavior. Every student starts his or her day on “green.” They are going in the right direction! If a student is demonstrating a negative behavior, a verbal warning is given first. If the negative behavior continues, that child is moved to “yellow.” They are being warned to slow down and correct their behavior. Should a child continue to demonstrate the negative behavior, he or she will be moved to “red.” If a child is moved to “red” on the stoplight, I will be contacting the parents by phone that evening to discuss the issue at hand. Even if a child ends his or her day on “red,” rest assured, all students begin the next day with a fresh start on “green.
