What is moxibustion and the principle behind moxibustion?
The word “acupuncture” in Chinese translated literally is “Needle and Moxibustion.” It is an essential and fundamental aspect of acupuncture treatment. One form of moxibustion consists of attaching dried mugwort to the ends of certian needles during treatment. The mugwort is then lit, as similar to incense, and the heat transfers down into the body, increasing the energy within the energy meridians.
