Mountain View Whisman School District (Santa Clara County) placed Measure C on the June 2008 ballot. Measure C passed with 80.49% of the vote. Measure C taxes parcels a varying amount based on their square footage, with a minimum tax of $127 per parcel and a maximum of $1016 per parcel. It provides an exemption for owners of single family, owner-occupied residences where the owner is 65 years or older, or is receiving SSI for a disability. It exempts parcels that are otherwise exempt from ad valorem property taxes.
